With one of the most unique styles in the dulcimer world, Jem Moore has been charting new ground for over 25 years. He has tackled monumental classical pieces including the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach, and created haunting, poly-rhythmic original compositions that have been featured on NPR’s Echoes. His performances have included top-tier folk festivals such as Philadelphia and Winnipeg, and an entire roster of dulcimer festivals around the country. With 15 albums and tours in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, Jem continues to inspire audiences around the world.
A premier Taiwanese world-class violinist and celebrated traditional fiddler, MinTze Wu began her violin study at the age of nine. She moved to the US to attend Juilliard Pre-College, and received her Bachelor and Masters of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She started fiddling in 2002, and has dazzled crowds in pubs and concerts from Colorado to Poland. A former member of the Azmari Quartet, she served as faculty at Northern Kentucky University. She is currently sharing duties as co-director of Gros Morne Summer Music in Newfoundland, Canada.
Jem and MinTze released their first album, Uncharted Waters, to rave reviews in 2007. An exuberant album of mostly traditional Celtic music, one of the pieces on it is a composition commissioned by the Gros Morne Summer Music Festival in Newfoundland. Bonne Bay Suite was debuted in the historic Heritage Theatre at Woody Point, and broadcast across Canada on the CBC. Currently living in the mountains of Colorado, they continue to travel the world playing music, teaching, and joining Irish sessions whenever possible.
